Google Android running phones have been caught-in-the-act "phoning home" to Goooooooooooooogle to report the phone's location, even with the Subscriber Identity Module removed and the phone "OFF".

Some apps for Android depend-upon "Google Play Services", regularly exchanging data with Google servers.

Thus i had done my best to remove Google, the Google Play Store, and Google Play Services.

i awoke during the night...
yep, it's definitely still dark.
i grab my mobile phone, noting that it feels warm to the touch.
4 percent battery charge? Huh? Say what?
Of course! My cellphone is infected by cryptocoin_mining_ware!
As i power-off my Android_running ARM_architecture MotoG4Play, i realize that i have "come to that point, the point of no return, that sad state of affairs which can only become happy again, with a full reset to factory state, with the concomitant loss of all contacts and media, settings, preferences, apps, and private crypto-keys, or at least perhaps those encrypted...
faery girl vaguely remembers backing-up her encryption keys?

In Settings entry "AboutPhone" -- "System Updates" we found updates from Motorola for the firmware (presumably), and from Goooogle for Android.

This, after days, is what i was able to assemble via the F-Droid app after turning on its "Guardian Repository".
Downloading that was the only thing which required Chrome.
The Yalp store was required to install a copy of the X-plore App.
