We are staying bemused by the many expressions of life.

Balance is needed.

i just updated an olde article about Living Food; particularly adding the Food Combining Chart at the bottom... which is something to print out and post in your kitchen :-)

The usual recommendation is do not drink with a meal, do not eat until 20 minutes after drinking anything, and do not drink anything until 20 minutes after eating.
Obviously, if you are eating a drink, e.g. a smoothie, likewise don't mix anything else into your stomach for plus or minus 20 minutes.

And where the chart suggests not mixing, that is in the stomach because different foods have different digestive needs... therefore...
allow 1 hour after eating simple carbohydrates (e.g. fruits),
allow 2 hours after eating complex carbohydrates (bread, pasta),
allow 4 hours after eating meats, cheeses,
to digest that thing before eating another kind of food... and with merely a few minutes contemplation, you will quickly see that, the worst diet you could ever eat is exactly the kind of meals, with the foods served in the order they're served, whenever you go out to eat at a restaurant... where you should start with the after-dinner aperitif (sweet alcohol) and desert, and then an hour later eat the salad, and then at least an hour after that you can eat the "main course" meat and potatoes, (what, you still eat meat?), and waddle home to digest over the next 4 hours, before you even think of trying to have sex with your partner.
(Hint: make love on empty stomachs before going out for dinner :-)
and let the wait staff wonder why you have such big grins on your faces.
