Recipe for Magnesium / Bicarbonate Water
by Robert Bradstreet Calrow

What I have been doing is making the Magnesium Water using Walmart Distilled Water, and either 1/3 of a liter per gallon of the concentrated magnesium bicarbonate mixture per gallon, or 1/2 of a liter (500 ml or cc) per gallon.

So from one liter of carbonated seltzer water I make 2 gallons, or 3 gallons of higher alkaline magnesium water.

I place a 1 liter bottle of club soda in the freezer for 1 hour to super chill it without forming ice, then, opening the bottle slowly to minimize the loss of CO2 (carbon dioxide), remove 4 Tablespoons of the seltzer water using the measuring cup that comes with the Walmart Equate Brand Magnesium Hydroxide, which is the same as Phillips Milk of Magnesia, (only $4 less expensive), get the plain not flavored brand as it is free of the added chemicals in the flavored varieties.

I then use the included plastic measuring cup to add back in 3 Tablespoons of the Magnesium Hydroxide to the seltzer bottle and pour some soda into the measuring cup and stir it to get all the remnants left of the Magnesium Hydroxide clinging to the measuring cup, which is poured back into the seltzer bottle.

Replace the bottle's screw-on cap, tightening firmly and then proceed to shake for at least 30 seconds; the soda water CO2 is reacting with the Magnesium Hydroxide and initially will appear cloudy. I continue to shake for 30 seconds every few minutes and within 10 minutes the solution will turn clear again.

You will know the chemical reaction is finished when the solution becomes clear as the two components, Magnesium Hydroxide and Carbon Dioxide chemically react resulting in a new Magnesium Alkaline Water whose Magnesium, in solution is much more absorbable by the body and you find that the container has partially imploded about 1/4 to 1/3 in size as if a powerful vacuum had been applied to the bottle.

You now have a magnesium concentrate that one can add 1/3 to 1/2 of this content to an empty gallon bottle then refill with water - I prefer Distilled for reasons below, or conversely, remove an equal amount of water from a gallon of water, which you will replace with Magnesium Water Concentrate, (1/3 to 1/2 of the liter bottle / 333 to 500 ml).

You will find this alkaline magnesium water will not only be of a higher pH but will also increase bowel regularity.
